Once a band of fabric stretched around one’s hips and falling below the waist, the skirt has gone a long way since its conception in the eighteenth century, when it was used as a cultural marker. Despite its earlier history of being worn by both men and women, skirts are usually seen donned by ladies and young women, a semblance of etiquette and finesse.
