THIS IS OUR ARTISTIC AVENUE

What does it take to let creativity spark?

Sounds familiar? This question probably pops up whenever we’re staring at a blank page of a MS Word document, figuring out how to begin a story for lit class. Or better yet, the query shows up in the middle of an all-nighter, when you're trying to pick which colors fit best with your final plate. It doesn’t end in those moments, though; in almost every life decision, we tend to inquire about our inner capabilities to yield the drive we need in accomplishing daily errands-- yes, even if those aren't exactly for school.

So, what does it take to let creativity spark?

Here's an answer we've found.

Tomorrow, November 28, 2015, let’s pack our bags and prepare our hearts on our way to an artistic avenue carefully built by a local platform that aims to empower and engage young women through art, creativity and (fun) discourse on women-related issues. Come and chance upon with us in Woman, Create’s 365 Wonders 2016 Planner Launch at Heima Brixton, Kapitolyo, Pasig City at 11am to 10pm!

The event promises to lay out a series of passion-fueling talks by day and a thrilling set of performances by night (think Ja Quintana, Luxe Calip, Rizza Cabrera, Toni B., Clara Benin and Dearest!) aside from the presentation of their one-of-a-kind planner. And in case you’re wondering: the event is free of charge!

The said planner boasts of commendable pieces that will make you write your own poetry and craft  your own masterpieces every single day. Sounds beyond exciting, right? Good news is, you can now pre-order (and get a discount!) via: http://bit.do/365WondersPreOrder

To let you know how much we, in Charlie ‘n’ Charlotte, are enticed about tomorrow’s happening, here are some women-empowering pieces we managed to make!

"In her sweat-soaked curled up fist, a woman holds the world firmly in her hands. Who else, but a bedrock of beauty, of strength, of courage, of pain turned into flowers, is worthy of holding such a treasure?

How is she not worthy of holding it when, after years of being made to understand that she is inferior, that she is the lesser sex, that she is the servant, stands up to fight, blood pouring from her wounds, to take what is rightfully hers?

How is she not worthy of holding it when she is a collision of all things tender, kind, gentle and, at the same time, hard, enduring like a soldier at war?

How is she not worthy of holding it when she cries as she realizes that finally she has a place she can claim in this world without having to act to “belong” in a “home”?

How is she not worthy of holding it when she can finally look at her flaws, her weaknesses and use them to make herself stronger, when she smiles and stands back up to hear those horrid words: “you’re just a woman”?

How is she not worthy of holding it when she can take pride and see the magic in her sex, when she can finally say she’s enough, that she doesn’t have to change and hide who she is?

The power hidden in the hands of a woman make her worthy of holding the world."
